This wine was made entirely from fruit grown at Centennial’s Bowral vineyards using the 667 clone of Pinot Noir. 2018 yielded very small berries in this block which has created a concentrated and perfumed style with excellent varietal definition, 20% whole bunch fruit was included in the ferment. Fragrant earthy cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, and enticing herbs/spices. The palate has great mouthfeel and texture, with fleshy red berry fruit, and an enticing silky finish. Fermentation and maturation in new (18%) and seasoned French oak has added texture and complexity to this wine. Minimal filtration may result in a small deposit with time. 2018 Tobacco Road Pinot Noir, King Valley VIC
From the King Valley in Victoria this wine displays a brilliant ruby red colour. The nose shows lifted black cherry and red berry aromas. These aromas are reflected in the palate with cherry and strawberry flavours balanced by some earthy notes. Partial barrel fermentation in French oak complements these distinctive fruit flavours. The tannins are soft and fine grained, resulting in a wine which is ideal for immediate consumption or short to medium-term ageing.
